Charli XCX Embraces a Hell Version of Herself in Mockumentary First Look

The Grammy-winning artist is preparing for a major cinematic onslaught in 2026, beginning with the mockumentary titled The Moment.

Within the project, she embodies what she refers to as a twisted version of her public image.

It’s the truest representation of the entertainment world that I’ve ever encountered, the star commented.

She further explained in an interview: It’s far from a live performance documentary, but the idea came from the demand to create one.

A Sneak Peek into The Project

The debut trailer, released on this week, combines actual recordings from her recent tour with made-up off-stage interactions.

The film is directed and co-written by the director, who explained that the plot revolves around a reality where Charli opted for alternate decisions in the marketing of her smash hit album Brat.

A Hectic Acting Schedule

This project is only one of several forthcoming movie projects for the musician, who recently featured in three cinematic festival entries recently.

  1. Friendship drama Erupcja
  2. Satirical comedy thriller Sacrifice
  3. Modern fairy tale 100 Nights of Hero

She also appeared as herself in the Amazon series Overcompensating.

What’s Next

The coming year will also include Charli with Olivia Wilde in erotic drama I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in gallery suspense The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in scary reboot Faces of Death.

She recently joined to feature in the actress’s maiden directing project A Tree in Blue.

I’m thoroughly loving my foray into acting, she stated. I’m highly enthusiastic right now in that field, and I always aim to pursue things that inspire me.

Score Contributions

Next February will also include the release of Emerald Fennell’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase new music from Charli.

She will also create the soundtrack for the film Mother Mary, with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released soon.

The film will be released on 30 January.
